The imports of ferro-manganese, silico-manganese and other ferro-alloys into Japan are not allowed to apply for preferential duties from the 1st April of 2011. In order to ensure the advantage of preferential duties, which are lower than GATT or nil, the procedure to go through the customs formalities for cargoes of ferro-manganese, silico-manganese, and so on imported from specified preferential countries into Japan is usually concentrated in April but this business model is anticipated to disappear from April of 2011.
