It was informed by the parties concerned in China that the total quantity of manganese ore imported into China and accumulated at wharves in discharging ports is estimated to have reached approximately 2,600,000 tons as of the 20th of July. A normal level of manganese ore stocked at wharves is usually said to be a portion of 2 months against its consumption per month and, therefore, more than several hundred thousand tons of manganese ore have been stocked in China as a surplus.
