EUROFER, ORGALIME Urge Intervention Of European Governments- Versus iron ore massive price increase, BHPB - Rio proposed production joint venture

Against the moves of the world's major iron ore suppliers, including claim for iron ore massive price increase and BHP - Rio Tinto proposed production joint venture, the European Confederation of Iron and Steel Industries (EUROFER) and the European Engineering Industries Association (ORGALIME) have produced a joint statement dated March 30 calling for fair conditions on prices, an immediate intervention by European governments in the matter, and continued strict investigation by the European Commission into the proposed production joint venture. EUROFER and ORGALIME represent the whole interests of the European steel industry and the dominant numbers of European steel products users,respectively.
