Japan's stainless steel manufacturers are considering offering exports of nickel-based CR sheets at 2,900- 3,000 US dollars/ton C&F when they start negotiations next week on their export deals for February-March shipments to Asian destinations, mainly to China. It is uncertain whether they can negotiate a price level of 3,000 US dollars /ton C&F at once in what they sell, given the current LME nickel prices at a level of 8.50 US dollars /lb. But they are determined to nail down prices of at least 2,900 US dollars /ton C&F in the negotiations this time while shunning deals at prices below 2,900 US dollars /ton C&F.
