Vale's 2009 Iron Ore Production 238 Mt- Weaker demand in 1H09 adversely impacts; full capacity pellet production expected for 2010

Brazilian minerals and base metals producer Vale has announced its 2009 Production Report with the following highlights: Iron ore production was down 21.1% year on year at 237.953 million tons (Mt), pellet production down 46.7% at 23.856 Mt, which comprised approximately 14.0 Mt of blast furnace pellets and approximately 9.8 Mt of direct reduction pellets.
