Sherritt Participates In Nickel Project In Indonesia- To Acquire 57.5% Of Interest In This Project Held By Rio Tinto

Sherritt International Corporation ( Sherritt ) of Canada announced on the 1st of December ( local time ) that the Company will acquire an interest in the Sulawesi Nickel Project ( Sulawesi Project ) of Indonesia. Rio Tinto has already obtained an approval to develop this nickel project from the Government of Indonesia and has been investigating to industrialize the Nickel project in Sampala area of Sulawesi Island. Sherritt will acquire a majority of the interest in the Sulawesi Project and is scheduled to take over its feasibility study by means of investing 110 million US dollars in this work.
