BHP Billiton At Last Withdraws Force Majeure Declaration

As reported before, on 5th June BHP Billiton withdrew the force majeure declaration over metallurgical coal mines in Queendland operated by BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA). Because of huge damage incurred at its metallurgical coal mines in Queensland by record concentrated heavy rainfalls that directly hit Queensland during the period between January 18 and 20th, the company declared force majeure on 24th January. After that during the period between 9th and 14th February, severe concentrated heavy rainfall assaulted Queensland again, resulting in further enlarged damage at each coal mine.
