Almost four years down the line, how is the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) doing? As an elected Scottish Pharmacy Board member since 2010, an Assembly member since 2011 and the chairman of the Scottish Pharmacy Board since 2012, my perspective is that the RPS is taking shape. Significant progress has been made in a number of key areas: Internal redesign of RPS directorates and their staffing structures and function is now well aligned to developing new member services actively, such as those provided by the RPS Faculty; The redesign of the business processes of the Pharmaceutical Press was a necessary response to the digital demands placed upon all who wish to survive and thrive in the rapidly changing world of publishing; The recruitment and retention of members remain top priorities within the business plans of all three RPS national pharmacy boards. Our membership currently stands at 54% of the GPhC register and is growing.
