摘要

A PROPORTION of any savings from secondary care incentive schemes linked to high cost drugs not reimbursed through the national tariff should be reinvested in hospital pharmacy teams, according to a report by NHS England. The report, published last week, says it is logical to look at how incentive schemes can work in secondary care because they have "worked well" in changing prescribing patterns in primary care and have saved money. The report, "Principles for sharing the benefits associated with more efficient use of medicines not reimbursed through national prices", estimates that around £2.9bn a year is spent by trusts in England on drugs that are excluded from the national tariff.
