摘要

THE UK Government and the pharmaceutical industry have agreed that NHS spending on branded drugs — which stands at £12bn per year — will remain flat for two years, followed by small increases of less than 2 per cent for the following three years. The industry will be underwriting any further spending by the NHS within agreed boundaries. The deal came through after the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry agreed to the terms following a protracted discussion on the Pharmaceutical Price Regulation Scheme, a rolling scheme that is usually renegotiated every five years.
