Legal action could follow inadequate needs assessments

LEGAL action could be brought if health and wellbeing boards fail to complete adequate pharmaceutical needs assessments (PNAs), Pharmacy Voice has warned. The organisation welcomed the publication of an information pack about PNAs by the Government, but said poor PNAs were a lost opportunity. The Department of Health's information pack outlines the legislative background and the minimum information that must be in PNAs, as well as matters for local authority health and wellbeing boards to consider when developing and updating PNAs.
