An electronic solution

I read with interest Minesh Parbat and Reena Gaddu's letter (PJ, 27 April 2013, p467). Experience in East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust supports their findings, which suggest a high drop-out rate. We want to address this and, after conversations with several colleagues within the trust, the local pharmaceutical committee and local clinical commissioning groups, we believe we have an effective answer. We are developing an electronic solution called "Refer to pharmacy", with launch planned for this summer.
