THIS September's registration assessment saw 69.2 per cent of the 760 preregistration candidates passing the examination, the General Pharmaceutical Council announced last week. This compares with a pass rate of 58.2 per cent in September 2012. The GPhC said the assessments are bench-marked against previous years to make sure outcomes are fair and consistent. There were 271 candidates sitting the examination for the first time, of which 67.2 per cent passed; of 453 sitting it for the second time, 73.7 per cent passed; and of 34 sitting it for the third time, 29.4 per cent passed.
