Bowel cancer risk with beta-blockers

LONG-TERM beta-blocker use doubles the risk of developing late-stage bowel cancer, data from a population-based, case-control study suggest. Between 2003 and 2007,1,762 patients with colorectal cancer and 1,708 controls in Germany were interviewed about their use of beta-blockers, as well as other medical and lifestyle factors.
