Spin-off company set to win first paediatric-use marketing authorisation

A SPIN-OFF company set up by The School of Pharmacy, University of London, is leading the way in bringing paediatric medicines onto the European market. The company, Therakind, has become the first to win a positive opinion for a paediatric-use marketing authorisation from the European Medicines Agency's Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) under a Directive introduced in 2007 to encourage the development of paediatric medicines.
