Ian Facer (PJ, 4 June.2011, p659) is right to challenge director general of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry over the public service obligation on the medicines supply chain. Every pharmacist in the UK is aware of the serious problems in the distribution chain of pharmaceuticals but ABPI members are arrogantly and selfishly (apparently with the blessing of the Office of Fair Trading) conferring a status of total monopoly by using only one wholesaler.
