We thought this was going to be a problem and, following a telephone call to the consultant, our fears were confirmed. It was a Friday evening and as we were closing the hospital dispensary a patient's father appeared at reception. He had brought with him an FP10 for his child, who had run out of his regular medicine. He explained that he had taken the prescription as usual to his local community pharmacy but on this occasion it did not have the item. He was expecting us to dispense the prescription.
