Thorn in the side

THE responsible pharmacist Regulations have been a thorn in the side of many members of the profession ever since they were introduced two years ago. Independent research, commissioned by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland, has now been published (p667 and p674). It is clear that the reservations expressed before the regulations were implemented have not been rebutted in practice; moreover, changes in practice that their implementation was expected to facilitate have not come to pass.
