What can be done for overactive bladder?

The term "overactive bladder" has previously been subject to much controversy. The definition devised by the International Continence Society (ICS) in 2001 describes the condition as a symptom or syndrome suggestive of lower urinary tract dysfunction2 and, more specifically, as "urgency, with or without urge incontinence, usually with frequency and nocturia". Urgency describes the complaint of sudden compelling desire to void that is difficult to defer, and urge incontinence is the complaint of any involuntary leakage of urine immediately preceded or accompanied by urgency.
