The V2 was certainly a rocket

Further to the item by Hourglass (PJ, 6 March 2010, p250) and the letter from A. F. Huntley (PJ, 20 March 2010, p288), the V2 certainly was a rocket. It was powered by 75 per cent ethanol and liquid oxygen, but the warhead was considerably smaller than suggested by Mr Huntley. Information that I have seen .suggests that the warhead was 1,6271b (738kg) of amatol or 2,2001b (980kg), depending on source, rather than the suggested 13,200kg. I understand that the launch weight of the missile was 12.8 tons (13,000kg) or 28,0001b (12,500kg) (again, depending on the source).
