One of my daughters took her family to Malta recently. After three days, she telephoned to say she had developed a highly irritating rash that covered her from head to toe. I advised her to visit her local pharmacy immediately. This she did and the pharmacist supplied her with a seven-day course of desloratadine and a five-day reducing course of prednisolone. Three days later the rash had disappeared.
