The article from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society entitled "Restricted title - a legal perspective" (PJ, 11 April 2009, p412) reviewed various options for restricting the title "pharmacist" once there is a separate regulator and professional body.The article referred to the legal advice obtained by the Society from an international law firm.The article considered how the new professional body might be given the power to restrict the title and concluded that any attempt to do so "would involve considerable difficulty and some risk, and it seems most unlikely to succeed in the context of current Government policy".
