It is disappointing that The Journal has perpetuated the assertion that changes to the regulation of pharmacist activity will be about "remote" supervision (PJ, 3 October 2009, p346). Supervision is about the activities that happen within a pharmacy, and which ones need to be under the control of a pharmacist. It is about pharmacy's purpose.Technology may be part of supervision, but it will not be all of it. Most supervision will still be done by pharmacists in pharmacies.
