The Department of Health stated that a consultation would take place on the English pharmacy White Paper in the late summer, yet we have heard nothing. In the meantime, primary care trusts' in-trays across England are filled with 100-hour per week pharmacy applications from medical practices eager to exploit the ludicrous loophole in the control of entry regulations, either to protect their dispensing business or to enter the pharmacy market before the shutters come down.
