Pharmacist escapes striking-off by giving undertaking to quit practice

A 73-year-old locum pharmacist who made five dispensing errors-four of them on the same day-has escaped sanction by the Disciplinary Committee of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society by giving a formal undertaking never to practise as a pharmacist again.On 23 January 2008,the committee inquired into a complaint by the Council of the Society against Salvatore Ferrigno,of Liverpool(registration number 53060).
