Since January 2006,Mira Makhecha,accredited checking technician at Boots The Chemists in Wimbledon,London,has been running a smoking cessation clinic.It all started when Ms Makhecha visited 'another Boots store.A stop smoking adviser from the primary care trust went in to speak to the pharmacist about setting up a smoking cessation clinic and Mrs Makhecha got talking to him."I asked him how it worked and,more importantly,if a qualified dispenser could also do it,and he said 'y',"she told Registered Technician.Excited about the possibilities,her next step was to telephone the PCT so that she had enough information to suggest the project to a pharmacy manager and express her interest in it.
