Health in the UK: could do even better?

Countries are political entities; to analyse by country is a political act. So Christopher Murray and colleagues' report in The Lancet,1 which compares health outcomes in the UK with those in other countries, is political. It is a political analysis and requires a political response-from UK politicians and from the body politic of the health professions.
