The head of the apartheid regime's chemical and biological warfare programme,WouterBasson, popularly known as Dr Death, remains defiant despite his failed bid to have charges of unprofessional conduct against him dropped.The Health Profession's Council of South Africa (HPCSA), the country's statutory registration body for health professionals, has acquitted him on two of six charges of unprofessional conduct and breaching medical ethics. His disciplinary hearing will continue next month and if found guilty, he could lose his licence to practise.
