Editorial Comment; These 2 articles provide information regarding an important question, which is, what resolution, if any, can one expect following correction of pelvic organ prolapse in those individuals who have coexisting overactive bladder symptomatology? The article by Basu et al is the better one, as it is a prospective observational series. Of the women studied 61.7% experienced resolution of urgency symptomatology following surgical repair. The women who reported resolution had a significantly increased maximum flow rate with no change in volume voided. The caveat is that the study extended for only 10 weeks postoperatively.
