More recently, several copper mining projects have been put on hold or are being revised before proceeding. The focus for companies has clearly shifted from an orientation towards growth to a focus on cost containment and portfolio asset rationalisation. Capital intensive projects are under scrutiny and are now less likely to go ahead.
