DuPont UK-Technology from Ideas/Radius Systems

DuPont UK worked with Irish product commercialisation group Technology from Ideas (TFI) and plastic pipe maker Radius Systems to develop a novel mooring tether using flexible materials to protect devices from harsh wave conditions.The partnership involved designing and making a corrugated extrusion in Hytrel on a scale never before attempted. The problem with conventional mooring lines is that they experience high loads and severe fatigue in exposed environments, and struggle to keep devices moored on point due to high tidal ranges, high currents, and rough waves.
