Spot asia-pacific coking coal prices ease on lower offers into China

Singapore — Spot coking coal prices ended the week on a bearish note, as lower-priced offers from Australia and Indonesia continued to be reported in China. One excep- tion was semi-soft coking coal, which bounced back after a higher-priced deal was reported. Platts assessed premium low-vol HCC $2.50/mt lower at $172.50/mt FOB Australia, down $8/mt on-week, and second- tier HCC down $2/mt at $151/mt FOB, a $6/mt drop on-week.
