Asian low density polyethylene was assessed down $40/mt week on week at $1,170/mt CFR Far East Asia Wednesday on weak demand. Some Chinese bonded warehouse re-exports have also started to appear in Southeast Asia. One Chinese trader said it had sold cargoes to Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia. Deepsea supply was scarce, with some producers saying Europe was a more profitable destination at present, but many sources were expecting a flood of cargoes from the US, where inventory is valued and taxed at year end, to arrive in Asia over December-January.
