Asian ethylene dichloride prices were assessed flat to $7/ mt lower this week in thin activity amid high feedstock ethylene and weak downstream PVC prices. The CFR Far East Asia EDC marker fell $7/mt week on week to be assessed at $365/mt Thursday, while the CFR Southeast Asia marker was assessed flat at $372/mt. Feedstock ethylene rose $10/mt over the same period to $1,420/mt CFR Northeast Asia and rose $20/mt to $1,430/mt CFR Southeast Asia on limited spot availability. US Gulf EDC cargoes for late July arrival were heard being offered by traders at around $370 CFR Far East Asia this week, against buying ideas below $340/mt CFR Far East Asia, with no deals heard. Deepsea supply to Asia was seen to be limited from the US Gulf as cargoes were seen moving to Europe, where prices were higher. One market source said demand for US product in Asia was cooling.
