The Northwest Europe PVC FD spot market saw prices rise as imports loosened supply and released volumes for spot that were otherwise earmarked for contract customers. There was very little material available for spot earlier. Supply in NWE remains firm, as a series of outages at steam crackers has hampered feedstock ethylene output, but crackers are starting to return to normal operating levels and trade sources reported some improvement in availability, with sales on the spot market. Production and trade sources said material will be imported in June-July, at Eur910-940/mt. The origins were heard as the US, Mexico and Egypt. Spot prices for prompt delivery were heard at Eur1,000-1010/mt. Platts assessed at Eur950/mt, an increase of Eur22/mt on the week, to reflect the Eur910-1,010/mt spread.
