The import assessment for low-density polyethylene in Peru rose $20/ mt on the week to $1,260-$1,270/mt CFR basis Wednesday amid talk of tightening supply in the Americas. US-origin offers were heard $10/mt higher on the week at $1,270-$1,280/mt CFR basis. Market talk centered around recent production disruptions in Brazil and Argentina and continued talk of tightness from the US. At least one US-based trader said he had no availability for material out of the US and was looking to source material from Asia.
