Linear Low Density Polyethylene Asia

The Asian linear low density polyethylene market was softer this week on waning demand. The markers were assessed at $1,340/mt CFR FE Asia, down $40/mt week on week; $1,380/mt CFR SE Asia, down $20/mt; and $1,400/mt CFR South Asia, down $20/mt. As with LDPE and HDPE, weaker demand led to lower bids from Chinese converters, while producers tried to hold onto firm offers for H1 June shipments. Bid indications were heard around $1,330-$1,335/mt CFR China against offer indications around $1,350-$1,360/mt CFR China/FE Asia for H1 June shipments. The bearish sentiment was reflected in lower September futures, with the September 2015 LLDPE futures, the most actively traded contract at the Dalian Commodity Exchange, closing at Yuan 9,395/mt on Wednesday, down 285/mt week on week.
