Latin American linear low-density polyethylene spot import prices were mixed, with Brazil remaining flat and Peru falling Wednesday amid stable-to-lower offer levels, sources said. LLDPE import assessments dropped $10/mt in Peru week on week, assessed Wednesday at $1,465-$1,475/mt CFR basis, as US-origin offer levels were heard stable to lower, sources said. After three consecutive weeks of stable pricing, offer levels along the West Coast of South America trended $10/mt lower. Despite lower-priced offers, market participants said PE offers from the US were still limited amid announced US producer increases of 5 cents/lb ($110/ mt) in July. Meanwhile, Asia and the Middle East were also quiet with one buyer saying falling prices in Asia could pressure the US lower.
