Spain’s Repsol declares force majeure on ethylene, butadiene from Tarragona

London — Spanish energy major Repsol has declared force majeure on both ethylene and butadiene supplies from its Tarragona, Spain, steam cracker, the company said Wednesday. The plant “was impacted by a technical issue in the boiler of the cracker,” the company said in a statement. The cracker has the capacity to produce 702,000 mt/year of ethylene and 130,000 mt/year of butadiene.
