Asian PTA prices fell $11/mt week on week to $601/mt CFR China, $618/ mt CFR Southeast Asia and $621/mt CFR India amid continuing bearish performance from crude, PET and polyester, waning demand for spot cargoes and an ample supply of Chinese domestic cargoes. Although higher operating rates of 85%-90% have been seen at several Chinese PET resin producers, the majority of polyester fiber plants in China and Taiwan are reported to be at reduced rates of 70%-75%.
