The US March paraxylene contract price settled down 2 cents/lb ($44/mt) from February to the lowest settlement in over three years at 63.5 cents/lb ($1,400/mt), sources said Friday. The contract is at its lowest level since December 2010, when it settled at 63 cents/lb, according to Platts data. The US PX contract typically settles retroactively. The US spot PX assessment fell $20/mt week on week to $1,200/ mt FOB USG as the market was heard lower and tracking lower Asian PX.
