Asian polyethylene terephthalate fell $20/mt week on week to be assessed at $1,260/mt FOB Northeast Asia Wednesday, and fell $15/mt to $1,300/mt FOB Southeast Asia, amid falling offers and bearish feedstock purified terephthalic acid and monoethylene glycol markets. The CFR China PTA marker slid $40/mt week on week to be assessed at $890/mt, the lowest level since June 2012, while the CFR China MEG price fell $50/mt to $895/mt, its lowest level since July 2012.
