Low-density polyethylene import prices in South America fell slightly week on week amid thin activity in key markets. In Peru, CFR basis pricing shed $5/mt, assessed Wednesday at $1,760-$1,770/mt, with offers last heard in the $1,785-$1,800/mt CFR basis levels. This week, offers for Asia-origin material were heard as low as $1,725/ mt and higher at $1,755/mt but for August delivery, which falls outside Platts’ methodology parameters.
