October increases for general-purpose polystyrene and high-impact polystyrene were still being negotiated, sources said this week. Producers were seeking 3 cent increases for October after hikes of 3 cents for GPPS and 1-3 cents for HIPS were accepted into the market for September, sources said. However, buyers were pushing back on the October increases amid drops in feedstocks styrene and benzene in October.
