The spot price for paraxylene in Europe was down $25/ mt week on week, at $1,558/mt FOB ARA Friday, as a result of falling Asian prices and weak regional demand. From the previous day, the price was unchanged due to stable Asian prices. Market sources emphasized that demand from European end consumers was exceptionally weak, with no interest seen in spot product, while contractual volumes were kept to a minimum.
