US spot styrene continued to slide, dropping 0.95 cents week over week to be assessed at 72.90 cents/lb FOB USG Friday as supply was heard becoming long in the market. March deals were heard done in a range of 73-73.50 cents/ lb FOB USG this week, reported Friday. A 73.5 cents/lb FOB USG spot deal for March was heard done for 5.5 kt headed to South America though specifics on parcel sizes and where the 73 cents/lb deals were headed were unavailable by time of publication. March bids were heard this week at 72-73 cents/lb FOB USG, with March offers heard around 74 cents/lb FOB USG. Despite the deals, sources said export demand has been weak due to closed arbitrage windows to Europe and Asia.
