After domestic contracts rose 3 cents/lb in February, US polyethylene terephthalate producers are planning to implement 2 cents/lb increases for March based on higher raw material costs that have cut into operating margins. US PET contracts were assessed Wednesday at 87.75- 88.75 cents/lb US railcar ($1,935-1,957/mt), flat week on week following the February contract settlements. After three months of higher feedstocks contributing to rising PET contract prices, there were some signals this week that feedstock prices could be moving lower.
