Asian monoethylene glycol edged down $1/mt week on week to be assessed at $1,045/mt CFR Friday amid thin trading activity. The CFR Southeast Asia marker fell $2/mt over the same period to $1,042/mt. Market activity dwindled late week as most participants were in Hangzhou, China, to attend an industry conference. Bids were heard at $1,035- 1,040/mt CFR China against offers at $1,055-1,065/mt CFR China Friday. A deal was heard concluded at $1,055/mt CFR China. Bonded cargoes was heard concluded at $1,045- 1,050/mt. Another deal was heard concluded at $1,050/ mt CFR China. This was not taken fully into the Platts assessment process as market participants said the deal was not repeatable.
