US polyethylene terephthalate contracts were heard settling 1-1.25 cents/lb lower for July, with market sources pointing to lower feedstock costs as the primary driver behind the decreases. The decrease could be short lived, however, as US producers have announced 3 cents/lb increase for August, citing higher raw material prices. July US PET contracts were assessed Wednesday at 80.75-81.75 cents/ lb US railcar ($1,780-1,802/mt), down 1.25 cents/lb from June.
