Low Density Polyethylene: Asia

Asian low density polyethylene prices weakened this week amid weak buying interest. LDPE was assessed at $1,388/mt CFR Far East Asia Wednesday, down $17/mt week on week, and at $1,435/mt CFR Southeast Asia, down $20/mt. A Middle East producer offered April arrival cargoes at $1,420/mt CFR China Tuesday, with a letter of credit of 90 days. Iranian material was offered at around $1,380/mt L/C 90 days. This was not used in the assessment process due to its sanctioned nature. However, sources noted that Iranian offers were limited at present.
